Q. Our company uses a third party integrated supplier for MRO parts. How does this system improve upon that model?
A. By providing 24/7 availability to all parts, employees have better access to parts during after-hours and weekends. Third party suppliers can reduce costs by eliminating the need to man a parts crib 24/7. Finally, CompuCRIB gives your company the ability to manage multiple suppliers at the same time providing you with much more flexibility when choosing vendor partners.
Q. Can we use our existing inventory management software with the CompuCRIB System?
A. Yes, use your existing software to interface with CompuCRIB, or you can use our proven inventory control and purchasing software package.
Q. Will the use of the CompuCRIB eliminate the need for a crib attendant?
A. Because parts can be securely accessed 24/7 without the need of a crib attendant, payroll costs can be reduced. Time previously spent retrieving parts for employees can then be spent cycle counting inventory, stocking parts and tracking problem orders.
Q. What prevents people from taking several items from the system when only requesting one item from the inventory management software?
A. State-of-the-art video monitoring systems ensure complete, accurate control of your parts distribution process. Each transaction is monitored and recorded with a time and date stamp. Comprehensive transaction history reports make it easy to balance inventories.
Q. Who replenishes the parts inventory in the CompuCRIB?
A. Because of the point of use inventory controls and monitoring systems, parts replenishment can be easily accomplished in two ways. Crib attendants can re-stock the CompuCRIB themselves or they can make arrangements with their suppliers or vendors to restock the system. Additionally, CompuCRIB’s software guides the restocking process, insuring inventory accuracy.
Q. How many line items can the CompuCRIB hold?
A. More than 3500 line items can be stored in each CompuCRIB module, Depending on size of parts and ceiling heights available.
Q. Will the CompuCRIB save us space?
A. Yes, on average each CompuCRIB can store up to 25 times more products per square foot than shelving with each CompuCRIB module storing 25 to 50 sections of shelving.
Q. Will CompuCRIB work with consignment inventory?
A. CompuCRIB lets your authorized vendors access your system and manage inventories of their products….while locking them out of other inventory. All inventory is monitored and controlled while providing employees easy access to needed parts. Once our system is installed most suppliers are willing to stock your CompuCRIB with inventory then invoice for material as it is used. 20% to 30% of inventory can usually be converted to consignment.
Q. Do MRO items require special packaging?
A. No, unlike other systems, you can use CompuCRIB to store and access most all MRO supplies…. Including expensive and heavier items, without the expensive, time-consuming hassle of re-packaging items.
Q. What size parts can be stored in the CompuCRIB?
A. While most MRO parts inventories are made up of small parts CompuCRIB can store tooling and heavy items up to 120″ length and up to 2000 lbs.
