To be efficient, the company’s flexographic printing plates have to be located at the point of use for employees to easily retrieve and store them. An existing mezzanine required operators to walk up and down steps to access the plates. Storing them farther away from the presses would waste even more staff time. Locating the plates in a 900-square-foot room adjacent to the presses was the only option, but only half of the space needed was available using standard static industrial racking.

Building an addition was out of the question. The already inadequate footprint for storing slow-moving items on site went from 4,000 to 3,000 square feet based on additional uses for the space.
